COURSE DESCRIPTION

UTA11 is a great introduction to Ultra-Trail Australia by UTMB and trail running. The course traverses some of most stunning tracks of the Blue Mountains and while you encounter the odd lump along the way, it is very achievable for all abilities.

You'll start at Scenic World. The route takes you out Prince Henry Cliff Walk through Echo Point.

Descend Fern Bower into Leura Forest, then follow Federal Pass to the base of Furber Steps.

To get the real taste of UTA, you'll get to take on all of the 951 Furber Steps up to the finish back at Scenic World.

Select the Time Charts tabs to view the cut-off times for leaving the relevant checkpoint. If you miss the cut-off then you must follow the directions of officials. Time Charts show estimated fastest and slowest time for each race leg and should be used as a guide only. Please note that in bad weather conditions, cut-offs may need to be brought forward during the event.

MANDATORY GEAR

Every runner at UTA will have to carry mandatory gear. The mandatory gear list contains what we believe is the absolute minimum to keep you safe during the event and in the Blue Mountain’s unpredictable weather systems.

TRAINING ON COURSE

A large portion of the UTA courses are publically accessible throughout the year, offering the opportunity to train on course prior to raceday. Please take care and give way to members of the general public when training on course. Some sections of the course are on private land and may be closed for track works/maintenance outside of event times, so please read about these before heading out.
